Forging the blades of the future with composite materials with circular, safe and sustainable design
Programme: HORIZON-CL5-2023-D3-02
Duration: 1 april 2024 – 30 september 2027

Partners: Fundación Aitiip (Coordinator), Moses Productos, University of Limerick, CSIC, EvoEnzyme, Specific Polymers, Centexbel, ITA, EIREcomposites, KTH, Incotec
More information:
The objective of BLADE2CIRC project is to develop a more sustainable alternative to traditional wind turbine Blades increasing the share of high-performance bio-based composite materials with enhanced recyclability towards a scenario of circular wind energy farms. With that purpose, new bio-based materials will be developed, such as carbon fibre or dynamic resins to manufacture composites. In addition, new self-healing coatings and reversible adhesives will be formulated. It will be completed with strategies of chemical and enzymatic degradation.
Moses Productos’ main objective, as an industrial SME, will be to validate the upscaling potential of the resins, adhesives and coatings.
