Develop and commercialize flexible and compostable films from home based 100% on algae extracts. The SEEAWEEDPACK solution will contribute to reduce the use of non-recyclable or hardly recyclable plastic materials for single-use food packaging, reducing up to 2t of CO2 emissions per year for every t of PE and PP replaced by the new biomaterial (biopolymers extracted from algae, such as alginate and carrageenan). During the project execution period, the Consortium will confirm the manufacture of the flexible packaging film in an operational environment, and will initiate a small-scale production plan with customers who have already shown interest.
